Protect me please...

Protect me, please, said the Earth to the Child… Don’t waste anything of my most natural treasures: the air, the trees and the animals, but above all, don’t waste Water…
Water is the most important element for your future, Water is Life… You can take all the petrol, all the coal, all the aluminium, all the steel and all the manganese, you can steal from my belly all the marble and gold and silver, all topaz and ruby and amethyst and all the diamonds you want, you and I will survive; but without Water we will all simply die.

I just hope everybody could understand this message: Water is Life…

This is a picture I’ve shot through the window of the plane just over Gobi Desert, Mongolia, during my last flight from Beijing to Paris… You can see some clouds on the top and the black spots around are simply the shadows of the clouds on the ground, far below. You can also see some snaking curves, phantasmagorical dried rivers going to nowhere, abstract meanders leading to invisible and dead seas… No life there. The complete Earth could be like that someday, if we don’t take care…
