My dreams are running out... by Michel-Lag-Chavarria My dreams are running out... by Michel-Lag-Chavarria
And as my dreams are running out,
Ineluctably,
Reality always brings me back to you,
Fortunately...
...
..
.

Shot last Sunday, at the same place than [link] but half an hour later; the light was decreasing and the grey winter sky gives a very cold and unreal light to the scene.
As always, Canon EOS 300D, 10-22 mm Canon at 10 mm, clarity, noise reduction and frame with Paint Shop Pro 9.
Iso 100
Shutter speed 1/8 sec (no tripod)
Aperture value 4.0

Très beau! J'aime la manière que vous avez capturé l'eau et le ciel. Au début, j'ai pensé que vous aviez édité cette image. Je peux à peine croire qu'elle est vraie!

gorgeous. You seem to be able to make a dramatic image out of what could so easily be a mundane view. And your presentation is always outstanding.

Beautiful cross between the old ruins of a castle, or whatever it is, and the concrete of the new construction on the river. Nice find and a great photo. Thanks for sharing!

Salut Michel......

I love this. I think the photo is just beautifully captivating... and looking at your camera settings amazes me just a bit. Incredibly crisp for no tripod, and still creating the long exposure affect with the water... The unreal light is just so lovely in its cold clarity.

But what increases the image's beauty immensely is the little poem you penned to match it... that's my favourite part. :)

BTW, I know Michel is a common name, but it still makes me smile to hear it... :)
One of my favourite profs at university is named Michel, and he has this incredibly positive interest in all things beautiful and artistic... for some reason, you remind me of him; you both seem to have a great joie de vivre.

amazing photo. I love the use of long exposure on this one, and the way you can see that different parts of the water had different velocities. I really like the angle you took this from as well :)
great job Michel, as always :)

When you shoot at super-wide angles, on a cropped sensor, you can get away with a LOT! I'll let Michel answer, but by technical ideals, one should be able to shoot at 1/10 sec. handheld with a 10mm lens, if you are rock-steady... (Try this in a boat, lol!)

It's nice like all of your shots... I just wonder how it might look without that oversharpened hardness to it?

Flowing water always has something soft and smooth to it.

the hard bricks in the wall behind the water destroy that smootheness.
